About Château de Gaure : Pierre Fabre represents the 5th generation of a family of winegrowers and returned to his roots by purchasing a property in 2004, Château de Gaure. With the support of renowned penologist Marc Bertrand, they both introduced the Gaure range of wines to the Languedoc, which quickly received awards fro “La Revue des vins de France”
Pierre Fabre has chosen to stop using chemicals, in order to produce natural grapes of the highest quality, and the range is now in organic conversion.
Pierre Fabre creates typical wines with supple and velvety tannins to please wine lovers, constantly seeking the right balance between nature and terroir.
Winemaking : The harvests are manual, the grapes are transported in 15kg boxes to the cellar. The grapes are sorted and de-stemmed before being crushed to begin fermentation (by indigenous yeasts) in truncated concrete vats. the vatting period continues for 8 to 12 weeks. the wine is then aged in truncated wooden vats and Stockinger barrels of several wines for 6 to 12 months.
Description : 40% Syrah, 30% Grenache, 30% Carignan. Dark brilliant red colour. Aromas of red and black fruit, crystallised blackberry. In the mouth, the attack is marked. A fruity, crunchy wine.
