About Il Palagio: Tenuta Il Palagio is a farm of about 350 ha. which extends over the Florentine hill of Figline Valdarno, a step away from the heart of Chianti. Born as a private cellar of a noble Florentine family in 1530, the Palagio over the centuries has become both a Manor House and a wine and olive farm.
In 1997, Sting and his wife Trudie Styler bought the Palagio from the Duke Simone Velluti of San Clemente. They restored the main villa, the farmhouses belonging to it and the vineyards, also acquiring new ones to start their business as wine producers.
In the 13 ha of vineyards, typical grapes of the Tuscan tradition are produced such as Colorino, Canaiolo and Sangiovese and also international grapes such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The company also manages leased land where Vermentino is produced.
From 2020, the Palagio began their collaboration with renowned oenologist, Riccardo Cotarella.
The company also owns about 6000 olive trees from which extra virgin olive oil IGP is obtained.
Last but not least they also produce 8 varieties of honey from their 60 families of bees.
