About Lapilli : Lapilli was established as a family business in 1996 in the extreme southwest of the province of Avellino and has been meticulously managed by its dedicated team ever since.
Description: Greco di Tufo is a grape variety with a rich history, having been introduced to the province of Avellino by the Greeks in the 1st century BC. Harvested at the close of October, the grapes for this wine are allowed to rest on their lees for a period of three months prior to bottling. The result is a wine of remarkable freshness, with a clean and crisp character that is balanced by the roundness and ripe fruit character of the warm southern Mediterranean climate. There is a fascinating complexity to this wine, with delicate hints of pear, almond, sage and a kiss of minerality that add to its allure. Apricot and peach stone fruits take centre stage, with supporting notes of pear adding to the wine’s excellent balance.
Vinification : The grapes are soft pressed and the must obtained ferments for 15/20 days at a controlled temperature, 15/17 degrees in steel tanks. The wines rests on the lees for several weeks to acquire volume and complexity before the bottling time.
