Description: The blend is 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 41% Merlot and 4% Petit Verdot. The Dame de Montrose 2015 has a very fragrant and floral bouquet with blueberry and violet scents. On the palate, the wine is balanced and sumptuously structured due to the Merlot, which is the heart of this wine.
A constant quest for quality for both Château Montrose and La Dame de Montrose combined with increasingly precise crop selection now allows us to produce a third wine every year: Le Saint-Estèphe de Montrose. Produced on the remarkable terroir of Château Montrose and vinified by the property’s winemakers, it is a classic blend of two great Bordeaux varieties, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
The winter of 2015 was mild, while spring was favourable for all grape varieties. The vine growth cycle slowed down in August but picked up towards the end of the month in warm and dry weather which lasted until the end of October. These exceptional conditions, expressed in temperatures which often rose above 30° C, hydric stress and an almost miraculous amount of sunshine, all helped the grapes to mature.
The harvest started on 15 September and ended on 16 October, following a detailed picking plan in order to harvest perfectly ripe grapes
